Mr. Komocki (sorry I have no idea how to spell his name)
came to visit Eve and I at project today!! I had no idea he was coming and
neither did Eve so it was a wonderful surprise. Unfortunately Mr. Komocki was not in proper workout attire
(he was dressed for school) so he could not experience our project; he could
only watch. But have no fear he
had a great time anyway! After seeing the workout class and watching us do our
boxing drills and spar for a little bit, he and my sponsor, Jason, got to
talking. It turns out Jason knows
Mr. Komocki’s brother (the one that works at US) because Jason frequently goes
to US to teach teacher self defense courses as well as fitness drills to
coaches and gym teachers. It was a
weird little connection they have but Jason is a very personable guy so I think
all in all Mr. Komocki enjoyed his visit and he got to miss the morning at
school which is always a plus in my opinion, no offense. Also, another weird coincidence that happened
today: it turns out the women who offered to teach Eve and I ground self
defense moves is Liz Naylor’s (Hawken alumn) mother!
